Dear Friends,
I'm sitting on my balcony overlooking the Pacific Ocean at the Ritz-Carlton in Maui. The view is spectacular! Blue ocean, mountains in the background, a breeze gently blowing. The sun is just beginning to rise and a few birds are gently floating over the water. It's Friday morning of our Ambassador Retreat III on this incredible island. Without question, this has been one of the most spectacular weeks of my life, spent with over 500 of our very top Leaders from all around the world!
I have several observations regarding our Field Leadership. First, it is clearer to me than ever before that our Leaders are some of the warmest, kindest, and most loving people I have ever had the pleasure of being associated with. Second, these wonderful Leaders are among the top business builders and mission-driven entrepreneurs in the world. And third, we are blessed beyond belief to have attracted such amazing people to our FreeLife Family.
Our week in Maui is simply too difficult to fully describe unless you were there. The excitement was contagious. The Himalayan Goji Juice stories we heard were life-changing. The more I travel and hear firsthand the results Customers all over the world are having with Himalayan Goji Juice, the more convinced I am that this product represents the most promising health discovery ever witnessed in the nutritional/functional beverage category.
There is no question that in the next 10-12 years, Himalayan Goji Juice will become a $10 billion, worldwide brand name and that FreeLife International will be the most successful Direct Selling company in history. There is no question that Himalayan Goji Juice will help more people around the world improve their health than any other product of its kind. Some may ask how I can be so confident about our future. Let me share with you some of my innermost feelings about this Company and the key factors bringing me to these conclusions.
Our Purpose Is Our Passion!
For Kevin and me, FreeLife is not a business... it's a way of life. It's our calling to share with the world this incredible gift handed down from the world's oldest known healers — the Himalayan Healers. Ever since the early 1980s when my mom was miraculously healed of a crippling case of osteoporosis through the use of nutritional supplements, I knew what I was destined to do with my life. I knew why my mom suffered through this illness and then recovered after traditional medicine said she never would. My calling in life was to share the good news of nutrition with as many people as I possibly could so they, too, could benefit like my mother did. My calling was to help people heal themselves naturally, as God intended.
Years of preparation, trials, and tribulations went into helping shape this calling. My mom was healed in 1981 when I was still a teenager. However, it was not until October 2003, more than 20 years, four children of my own, and a few gray hairs later, that all the pieces of the puzzle finally fit together. Yes, it took longer than I expected or ever imagined it would, but that has made the success we are having together all the more rewarding.

The Life-Changing Berry
In the 32 months since this product was first launched, we have literally received thousands of reports from Customers all over the world telling us about how Himalayan Goji Juice has improved their health in every way imaginable. Through the years, we have seen a number of different juice products on the market. The success of these companies has ranged from going out of business within the first few years (the majority) to more than $500 million in annual sales. Some of these products have some interesting folklore, but no real science. Some have decent science but no historical usage. Additionally, some of them are simply unpalatable and taste awful. An Abundance Mentality
Another reason for my great confidence in our future is our abundance mentality. This extends from Kevin and me throughout our entire organization. I believe that my background plays a significant role in our desire to share and be of service to others. Simply put, I didn't come from a lot of money. My mom and dad are immigrants from Europe. My dad was born in Romania and my mom in Czechoslovakia. They came to the United States on an old Army boat, The General Langfit, in 1955. Because of stormy seas, the boat took three weeks to cross the Atlantic before sailing in past the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island into the New York City Harbor. My parents arrived with two young children and no money. They came here to live the American Dream.
To be honest, we struggled quite a bit financially growing up. We never seemed to have enough money at the end of month. And it wasn't because my parents were lazy. In fact, it was quite the opposite. My dad held two part-time jobs in addition to his full-time job just to make ends meet. And my mom, in addition to raising four children, worked at the local German bakery in town and at the five-and-dime store called Ben Franklin.
We had a very loving household, but no matter how hard my parents worked, we always worried about money and never felt completely financially secure. And that really bothered me. Was this really the American Dream? Work really hard and worry about money all the time? It didn't make any sense to me.
And then I found the answer when I began to study the Direct Selling industry at Yale Law School. I realized that this form of word-of-mouth marketing was the most powerful form of marketing ever discovered. Additionally, done correctly, a Direct Selling company could provide an incredible source of financial security for anyone willing to put in the effort.
And so, Kevin and I created FreeLife International to help people improve their health and provide others with the opportunity to realize their financial dreams. In doing so, we decided to put together the most lucrative compensation plan ever seen in Direct Selling. We believe we have done exactly that! Talk to anyone who truly understands compensation plans in Direct Selling and they will tell you that what we have done almost does not make sense, because the payout is simply too generous. Our abundance mentality is also evident in the many aspects of what we do on a daily basis, such as the special gifts and phone calls we provide to high achievers, the first-class trips we award to 600 Leaders every six months to luxurious resorts in places like the Bahamas, Maui, and Cancun, and the significant money we spend to have life-changing speakers at our annual Conventions. (Note: You won't want to miss Nando Parrado at this October's Convention. He'll share how he survived 72 days in the bone-chilling cold of the Andes Mountains after a horrific plane crash. We also strive to develop fresh ideas to reward and honor your achievements. I've personally gone on a site visit to Montage to make sure it's worthy of our Royalty and I can tell you, without any hesitation, that it is. I have never in my life seen a resort like Montage. When I was there, I learned that many of Hollywood's most popular celebrities make this their vacation destination. In fact, I ran into and spoke with none other than basketball Hall of Famer Ervin "Magic" Johnson and his wife Cookie who go there all the time. I can promise you this will be a once-in-a-lifetime event from January 8-11, 2007 for all qualified Royal Ambassadors.
Yet another area where I believe our abundance mentality shows is our charitable-giving program GojiKids. Since the only known side-effect of drinking too much Himalayan Goji Juice is that it might make you smile too much, we decided to put a smile on children's faces all over the world by donating a percentage of our sales to reputable children's organizations in every corner of the globe.
What once began as a monthly donation has turned into so much more as our success has afforded us the ability to give generously to those in need. In June alone, we made several donations, including a contribution to the Children's Hospital of San Diego that helped them raise over $1 million in a single night! In Australia, we made a donation to The Abused Child Trust and in New Zealand, we gave a check to Variety — The Children's Charity. My heart goes out to the tens of thousands of Leaders in Direct Selling, who, through no fault of their own, have been let down by companies they believed in. Some Leaders were blindsided when, after years of building their business, their company significantly changed the compensation plan and essentially robbed them of the concept of residual income. Others innocently joined young companies who touted "latest, greatest, biggest, best," only to see those companies go out of business and take with them the dreams of those Leaders. Their real message was "quick, easy, instant, and free," and that never builds enduring businesses.
The sad fact is that more than 95 percent of Direct Selling companies are out of business within five years. Often, that has to do with greed, poor planning, lack of integrity, broken promises, and lack of perseverance, among other reasons.
FreeLife is over the 5-year hump and, in fact, has 11 years of successful business history! We are totally committed to your success and to the long-term vision of being built to last. Kevin and I promise you that this will be the last company you will ever have to build a business with! We don't have a plan B!
Unlike most founders of companies in Direct Selling, Kevin and I started as distributors in this industry. We believe this gives us a unique edge to fully understand the wants and needs of our Leaders. We've been there like you, down in the trenches, doing in-home presentations, 3-way phone calls, and training sessions together. We understand how difficult and demanding your work really is. We know it's not easy. So everything we do is designed with you in mind to make your job easier and to help you be more effective at attracting more Customers and more Leaders to our mission.
We are fiscally conservative, 100 percent debt-free, and we have never been late mailing a check by the 15th of the month. And we make it a priority to support you by getting out on the road to visit you as often as possible. In the first five months of the year, between me, Kevin, Dr. Mindell, and Mike Zundel, we have visited you in more than 60 cities around the world!
We also strongly believe in constant and never-ending improvement. We are continuously developing and launching new sales aids like the Destiny and Imagine DVDs, making our trips more exciting (we had our own fireworks show last night in Maui!), improving our communication and branding (check out our brand new Himalayan Goji Juice song! You will love it! Livin' The FreeLife, polishing our Website, and adding more to our already outrageously generous Compensation Plan. Leaving Others in the Dust!
It's no secret that we are leaving other Direct Selling companies in the dust right now. We are the talk of the entire wellness industry. Leaders from many other companies are joining us in record numbers because of what we have to offer. That's made some companies unhappy. People are getting better results with Himalayan Goji Juice than they have with any other product they have ever used. That's made some companies unhappy, too. Businesses of every sort are watching our every move, imitating us and even trying to attack us. I want you to begin to get used to this. It's happening now and it will happen in the future. It always happens to the fastest movers in any field.
For a perfect example of this, take a look at the biography of Dr. Earl Mindell, the nation's leading nutritionist and author of the all-time best-selling book in the field of nutrition. Dr. Mindell started his career as a registered pharmacist with his own store, dispensing pharmaceutical drugs to people each day. It did not take him long to realize that many of the drugs he was providing to people were hurting them more than helping them. So he spent three years researching and writing his book The Vitamin Bible, which has sold over 10 million copies, is translated into 34 languages, and is available in 54 countries around the world. It is the biggest-selling book on wellness in the history of the world, bar none. It has helped more people improve their health than any book in history. In addition, Dr. Mindell appears on over 300 radio and television stations annually spreading his message.
For years, his was a lone voice advocating prevention and nutrition as a better alternative. And through the years, Dr. Mindell has repeatedly and publicly stated that his goal is to close half the hospitals in the United States and save the country $500 billion in medical expenses by teaching others how to stay healthy naturally.
But there are many special interests, such as drug companies, that have a vested interest in making sure Dr. Mindell does not succeed in his mission. By using public relations and the media, special interests have, from time to time, unfairly and viciously attacked Dr. Mindell from every conceivable angle. He's been unfairly labeled and defamed. Has this stopped Dr. Mindell in his mission? Not for a second. In fact, it has made him stronger and more resolute in his mission. My hat goes off to Dr. Mindell for not backing off from his dream in the face of potent enemies whose interests are tied to "curing" rather than prevention, who have aligned themselves with large pharmaceutical companies, and who would love to put a stop to him and his mission.
For the most part, the media has given a fair and balanced portrait of FreeLife, Himalayan Goji Juice, and the goji berry. Your Business magazine, and others I have mentioned already like the L.A. Times and the more recent Breakthroughs in Health magazine are among them. But recently, a news program in New Zealand ran a segment on the goji berry that was not only inaccurate, but filled with misrepresentations and false innuendoes. It was a pure hatchet job that we believe was driven by a competitor's fear of losing market share as a result of the positive impact that goji is having on people's lives in New Zealand. I can tell you that we are not sitting by idly as such reprehensible distortions of the truth are made. We are aggressively asserting our legal rights against this news station and all others involved in spreading these false rumors.
As we continue to grow and educate the world about the benefits of Himalayan Goji Juice, we should expect that other jealous and worried competitors, as well as unscrupulous members of the media, will attempt to portray our Company and our health-giving product in a poor light. Kevin's and my commitment to you is that we will not allow others to distort the truth. All such distortions will be dealt with swiftly and firmly.
With the success we have experienced, it was only a matter of time before other companies would try to "knock-off" or duplicate Himalayan Goji Juice. We are not worried about it in the least, as we have tested these Hima-"LYING" Goji Juice imposters. Not only did they taste terrible, they also did not come even close to conforming to the important Spectral Signature that we put on every bottle we sell as proof of the potency and quality of our product.
Let me state it very, very simply: Himalayan Goji Juice is one of a kind. It is truly unique. It is our proprietary formula. It is our trade secret. It has its very own fingerprint, our Spectral Signature, which cannot be copied. It has a perfectly balanced profile of the four important Lycium barbarum polysaccharides. It has our own unique flavoring system. I could go on and on.
We go to very extensive measures to protect the secrecy of the many steps we take to produce a finished bottle of Himalayan Goji Juice. Momentum Just Beginning!
Himalayan Goji Juice has been available in the United States for only 32 months. In all our other markets in the world, it has been available for less time than that. In fact, we have not even launched in a number of markets that we believe will eventually be our biggest markets in the world. Himalayan Goji Juice is literally in its infancy. We have just scratched the surface of our potential.
If you had the opportunity to invest in Microsoft, knowing what you know today about that company, when would you have purchased your stock?
Obviously at the beginning because that's where you have the most room for your stock to grow. Purchasing the stock today might be a very safe investment, but it would be unrealistic to expect the kind of spectacular return you would have had if you invested ten years ago.
The same is true with FreeLife. Those Leaders who build their businesses now with the most urgency over the next two to six years will have the greatest opportunity to reap enormous financial rewards, just like buying Microsoft stock in the first few years that the company went public. Given our current growth curve, I anticipate reaching $1 billion in sales in the next several years and $10 billion in the next decade or so. The year 2005 was our biggest year ever, but 2006 is growing so much faster that it's almost staggering to watch! May was once again our biggest month in our Company's history by a wide, wide margin. In fact, when the month of June is complete, we will have sold more bottles of Himalayan Goji Juice in the first six months of this year than we did during the ENTIRE YEAR of 2005! No, that is not a misprint!
I want to stress once again that this sort of magnificent growth does not occur very frequently. Most companies I know of are very happy when their sales increase by 10-15 percent a year. I knew why my mom suffered through this illness and then recovered after traditional medicine said she never would. Because of stormy seas, the boat took three weeks to cross the Atlantic before sailing in past the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island into the New York City Harbor. My parents arrived with two young children and no money. They came here to live the American Dream.
To be honest, we struggled quite a bit financially growing up. We never seemed to have enough money at the end of month. And it wasn't because my parents were lazy. In fact, it was quite the opposite. My dad held two part-time jobs in addition to his full-time job just to make ends meet. And my mom, in addition to raising four children, worked at the local German bakery in town and at the five-and-dime store called Ben Franklin.
We had a very loving household, but no matter how hard my parents worked, we always worried about money and never felt completely financially secure. And that really bothered me. Was this really the American Dream? Work really hard and worry about money all the time? It didn't make any sense to me.
And then I found the answer when I began to study the Direct Selling industry at Yale Law School. Others innocently joined young companies who touted "latest, greatest, biggest, best," only to see those companies go out of business and take with them the dreams of those Leaders. Their real message was "quick, easy, instant, and free," and that never builds enduring businesses.
The sad fact is that more than 95 percent of Direct Selling companies are out of business within five years. Often, that has to do with greed, poor planning, lack of integrity, broken promises, and lack of perseverance, among other reasons.

People are getting better results with Himalayan Goji Juice than they have with any other product they have ever used. That's made some companies unhappy, too. Businesses of every sort are watching our every move, imitating us and even trying to attack us. I want you to begin to get used to this. It's happening now and it will happen in the future. It always happens to the fastest movers in any field.
For a perfect example of this, take a look at the biography of Dr. Earl Mindell, the nation's leading nutritionist and author of the all-time best-selling book in the field of nutrition. Dr. Mindell started his career as a registered pharmacist with his own store, dispensing pharmaceutical drugs to people each day. It did not take him long to realize that many of the drugs he was providing to people were hurting them more than helping them. So he spent three years researching and writing his book The Vitamin Bible, which has sold over 10 million copies, is translated into 34 languages, and is available in 54 countries around the world. It is the biggest-selling book on wellness in the history of the world, bar none. It has helped more people improve their health than any book in history. In addition, Dr. Mindell appears on over 300 radio and television stations annually spreading his message.
For years, his was a lone voice advocating prevention and nutrition as a better alternative. And through the years, Dr. Mindell has repeatedly and publicly stated that his goal is to close half the hospitals in the United States and save the country $500 billion in medical expenses by teaching others how to stay healthy naturally.
But there are many special interests, such as drug companies, that have a vested interest in making sure Dr. Mindell does not succeed in his mission. By using public relations and the media, special interests have, from time to time, unfairly and viciously attacked Dr. Mindell from every conceivable angle. He's been unfairly labeled and defamed. Has this stopped Dr. Mindell in his mission? Not for a second. In fact, it has made him stronger and more resolute in his mission. My hat goes off to Dr. Mindell for not backing off from his dream in the face of potent enemies whose interests are tied to "curing" rather than prevention, who have aligned themselves with large pharmaceutical companies, and who would love to put a stop to him and his mission.
For the most part, the media has given a fair and balanced portrait of FreeLife, Himalayan Goji Juice, and the goji berry. Your Business magazine, and others I have mentioned already like the L.A. Times and the more recent Breakthroughs in Health magazine are among them. But recently, a news program in New Zealand ran a segment on the goji berry that was not only inaccurate, but filled with misrepresentations and false innuendoes. It was a pure hatchet job that we believe was driven by a competitor's fear of losing market share as a result of the positive impact that goji is having on people's lives in New Zealand. I can tell you that we are not sitting by idly as such reprehensible distortions of the truth are made. We are aggressively asserting our legal rights against this news station and all others involved in spreading these false rumors.
As we continue to grow and educate the world about the benefits of Himalayan Goji Juice, we should expect that other jealous and worried competitors, as well as unscrupulous members of the media, will attempt to portray our Company and our health-giving product in a poor light. Kevin's and my commitment to you is that we will not allow others to distort the truth. All such distortions will be dealt with swiftly and firmly.
With the success we have experienced, it was only a matter of time before other companies would try to "knock-off" or duplicate Himalayan Goji Juice. We are not worried about it in the least, as we have tested these Hima-"LYING" Goji Juice imposters. Not only did they taste terrible, they also did not come even close to conforming to the important Spectral Signature that we put on every bottle we sell as proof of the potency and quality of our product.
